There are headlines that we read and we believe that it has to be April Fool’s Day. But today is not that day. Today this news fantasy is totally real, crazy as it may seem. It happened in China, where a family bought a Tibetan Mastiff and took care of it for two years, before discovering that it was actually a black bear.
This Chinese family got hold of what they believed to be a Tibetan Mastiff puppy, one of the most expensive dog breeds in the world and with enormous dimensionsbeing able to weigh up to 80 kilos and being even bigger than the shepherds of the Caucasus.
The puppy arrived at their home in 2016, they named him Little Cute Blackie and he was raised and cared for as one of the family, growing as they believed this breed of dog grew. But according to an interview, they began to notice that something was not right because of the amount of food eaten per day and by the different “barks”.
When he reached 115 kilos in weight, they decided to contact the vet. The answer was immediate. What the family had raised it was actually an asiatic black bear, a species in danger of extinction due to its illegal trade in the black market. That is why they decided to move him to an animal sanctuary, where he lives quietly with his kind. How strong is this confusion?
