Apparently, the group of people were denied access because they intended to introduce their own drinks. However, Yalitza Aparicio argued that there was no writing where it was mentioned that it was prohibited.
“It is sad to think how, despite the times we are in, we still continue to suffer abuse of authority, or I don’t know how I could name this event. When the sample of discrimination was made known, social networks began to condemn the incident and to avoid further problems the Directorate of Markets in Oaxaca tried to smooth the situation by committing not to repeat a similar action.
“Instructions have been issued to all the merchants inside the markets, through the administrators, so that in the future any uncomfortable circumstance for visitors and customers is avoided,” the agency said in a statement.
