HBO has decided not to go ahead with one of the series with the best reviews in the entire history of the chain but then hardly anyone saw: ‘Los Espookys’ has been canceled after two seasons and will not have a third batch of episodes.
Created by Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega and Fred Armisen‘Los Spookys’ tells the story of some friends who decide to turn their passion for horror into a business, focusing on creating situations similar to the films of the genre and trying to make people believe that they are real.
Released in 2019, ‘Los Espookys’ was never especially followed, since its first season had an average audience of just 156,000 viewers, a figure that was less in the second, launched on September 16 after a break caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In return, it is one of the few series in the entire history of HBO with 100% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. For example, ‘Barry’ stays at 99%, ‘Blood Brothers’ at 97%, ‘Chernobyl’ at 95% and ‘Succession’ at 94%…
Also, The cancellation shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to his followers either.since Torres, who is also one of the protagonists of ‘Los Espookys’, has been working for some time on other ‘Little Films’ and Lucky’, two series for HBO, a chain with which he has an agreement.
