One more story within the television universe based on Julia Quinn’s novels reaches Netflix screens, it is “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), starring India Amarteifio, Arsema Thomas, Corey Mylchreest and Golda Rosheuvel.
On this occasion, the 6-episode series is focused on Queen Charlotte’s rise to power and popularity, this including “the story of the young woman’s union with King George, which was not only a great love story but also a turning point on a social level, because the high society traditions that the characters inherited in Bridgerton were created, ”Netflix revealed in its synopsis.
And wow, this production will give viewers several surprises, since according to the protagonist of the story, Golda Rosheuvel, the tone of this season will be very different from what has already been seen in the previous two.
“It’s more personal, a more private tone and I love it. Even the color is different because it’s more human, an intimate look at this character and everyone around her, Danbury and Violet (…) They will see how those aspects of his life integrate and how that trip took its place in what we see in Bridgerton”, he told in an exclusive interview with La Opinión.
Regarding his interaction with India Amarteifio, an actress who plays a teenage version of ‘Queen Charlotte’, Golda Rosheuvel revealed that while there was some talk regarding the project, her priority was always to respect his way of bringing this imposing character to life.
“I really wanted her to play Charlotte herself, you can’t force anything on Chalotte, you’d probably get a harsh response if that was the case. It was about giving India the license to make the role her own, to really take on the character.“, he highlighted.
When asked about her reaction to this spin-off, the histrionics revealed that the idea took her by surprise, because when the first production took place it was not known what direction her character would take.
“It was one of those moments where nothing seemed real and still doesn’t… I feel like: ‘Wow, this happened.’”, said the famous actress. “I’m very excited, I think the fans are going to connect with this season,” she added.
However, Golda is not the only one who has had an experience “out of this world” when participating in “Queen Charlotte”. Arsema Thomas herself, in charge of giving life to a young version of ‘Lady Danbury’, opened up to La Opinión about her foray into the project, calling it “a dream come true.”
However, the excitement brought with it several doubts due to the challenge of playing a character with such character and self-confidence.
“It was very relaxing when I got the first episodes and you realize that at the beginning of her life she was not like that, she was much more docile and submissive than you would expect (…) There’s something different about this Lady Danbury when she starts out and then you start to see her grow up and become the woman that she is.“, accurate.
