In the era of global streaming, few cases come to mind like that of the whovian declared that he does not have a legal alternative to see in our country the new adventures of the most famous Doctor of science fiction. Well, it seems that this is coming to an end because Disney + has reached an agreement with the BBC to be the house of ‘Doctor Who’ globally.
It was Ncuti Gatwa himself, the new Doctor (with the permission of David Tennant) who announced this agreement in an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Something that arrives just in time for the splendors and specials of the 60th anniversary of the series.
60th anniversary in a big way
Thus, it will be in November 2023 when we will be able to enjoy the new seasons of ‘Doctor Who’, which will feature Russell T Davies as the new chief writer, a position he already held when he developed the revival of the series in 2005. In that year we will have three anniversary specials with Tennant de Catorce and after the festivities Ncute Gatwa will replace him as Fifteen.
The note provided on the official website of Doctor Who does not clarify other issues. For example, if together with the new season the rest of those that make up will also arrive the 21st century version of the series (because I imagine that we won’t even smell the classic seasons) or, at least, the last fiction special.
In Spain, we can stream the first 10 seasons through Prime Video. However, later seasons are not available in our country.
