“It breaks my heart to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel ‘Top Secrets’ season 2. Over the years, these characters have become real to me, and I am very sad that I cannot see them grow,” Takeuchi wrote. “Reagan and Brett deserved their end and to finally find happiness. I would have loved to share with you what we had in mind.”
‘Top Secrets’ was one of Netflix’s strong bets in the field of adult animation, with a hilarious mix between office sitcom, science fiction and political commentary. The plot takes place at the base of a secret organization that controls the world, and where all the great conspiracy theories turn out to be true.
The animated series had good reviews for its use of humor and for the freshness it had given to the genre, and in fact, in June 2022, Netflix already considered the series renewed… But in the end it is seen that the most recent chapters of ‘Top Secrets’ have not lived up to the impossible metrics either that the platform requires.
