The days are numbered for the year and it is inevitable not to make a recount of what this 2022 has given of itself… at least in terms of the series. Especially those that have offered us a happy and comforting place, where you would move or simply break up.

So, let’s review what are the 21 Best TV Comedies of 2022. New series or seasons released in Spain this year and that have provided us with great fun and, why not say it, a little heartbreak.

The ranking of comedies of the year

And it is that this 2022 we have had the farewell to the latest comedy by Ricky Gervais (‘afterlife‘), great summer surprises like ‘they give the blow‘, longed for returns of geniuses such as ‘Russian doll‘ either ‘Atlanta‘, serious as ‘The Bear‘ and already comedy classics like ‘What we do in the shadows‘ have their presence on this list among many others.

On the other hand, we also call on you to learn about the best series and miniseries of 2022; In addition, these are the tops of Netflix, HBO Max, Disney + and Prime Video. If the comedy does not finish convincing you, we also have our ranking with the most outstanding horror series of this 2022

And going further back in time, these are the best comedies of 2021, the ranking of the most outstanding in streaming, and our top of the past decade and of history.

    we start.

    ‘Afterlife’ S3

    After Life Season 3 Scene

created by Ricky Gervais | Distribution: Gervais, Tom Basden, Tony Way, etc.

We kick off one of those comedies in the “downer series” subgenre with the final season of Ricky Gervais’ wonderful exploration of grieving and getting back up (if you can).

It can be seen on Netflix | Criticism

    ‘The Afterparty’

    Haddish After Party

created by Christopher Miller | Distribution: Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, etc.

We lovers of mystery comedy are having such good years and this is a great example of this with a fun murder case in a series that jumps from genre to genre according to the different stories and personalities of the main suspects.

It can be seen on Apple TV + | Criticism

    ‘Atlanta’ S3

    Atl 302 0026r 2

created by Donald Glover | Distribution: Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz

It has taken a while to come out but how good it is to come out. A season 3 that takes Earn, Paper Boi and company on tour in Europe while continuing to mark fabulous self-contained episodes in its incisive message.

It can be seen on Disney+ | Criticism

    ‘Barry’ S3

    Barry Hbo Season 3

created by Bill Hader and Alec Berg | Distribution: Bill Hader, Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, etc.

Perhaps too much time has gone by with this one as well, and the truth is that the life of this murderer with an acting vocation has returned more powerful and darker than normal, delving into the inconsistencies of leaving the past behind.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

    ‘The Bear’

created by Christopher Storer | Distribution: Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bacharach, etc.

While it may even be somewhat daring to consider it a comedy because of the intensity it carries, this is probably one of the series that has hit critics the most this year with an oppressive “kitchen nightmare.”

It can be seen on Disney+ | Criticism

'Hierve': a nightmare in sequence around the horrors of cooking and life, with an immense Stephen Graham

    ‘Abbott College’ (Abbott Elementary)

    Abbott Elementary

created by Fifth Brunson | Distribution: Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, etc.

Now let’s go for something much more classic with this wonderful “office” comedy that takes us to the lives of some teachers. One of the series with the most heart (and full of love for the guild) of all the ones you will find on this list.

It can be seen on Disney+ | Criticism

    ‘Derry Girls’ S3

    Derry Girls Img2

created by Lisa McGee | Distribution: Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, etc.

We’re leaving our favorite Irish teens but that hasn’t stopped us from having a big send-off. Fun, quirky and very true to herself with her 90’s look.

It can be seen on Netflix | Criticism

‘They give the blow’ (A League of their Own)

League Prime Video Loto S1 Ut 103 210827 Foxann 00051rc2

created by Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham | Distribution: Abbi Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, etc.

Every summer a big surprise falls and this one has been the new version of the 90s sports movie. On this occasion and in series format, we find a wonderful comedy that takes us to those beginnings of the women’s baseball league .

It can be seen on Prime Video | Criticism

    Hacks T2

    Hacks Season 2 Smart Einbinder

created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, Jen Statsky | Distribution: Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder

It was the revelation comedy of 2021 and this year it has confirmed, with this bus tour, that excellent is insufficient to describe the give and take of this comic duo. Sharp, thoughtful and hilarious.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

    ‘Heartstopper’

    Heartstopper Netflix Scene

created by Alice Osman | Distribution: Kit Connor, Joe Locke, etc.

Another of the surprises of the year has been this magnificent adolescent romantic comedy that goes far beyond the boy meets boy and those clichés to tell us about the day-to-day life of a group of young people in a way that is as beautiful as it is casual.

It can be seen on Netflix | Criticism

‘What we do in the shadows’ (What We Do in the Shadows) S4

What We Do In The Shadows Season 4 Premiere Review Reunited 3nub

created by Jemaine Clement | Distribution: Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demtriou, Harvel Guillén and Mark Proksch

I admit that this season has come a little late in my year (it hasn’t given me life) but it was putting on the first episode and watching all of season 4 in just a couple of days. The most hilarious vampires return showing why they are still the kings of absurd comedy.

It can be seen on HBO Max

‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) S4

    Marvelous Mrs Maisel S4 2

created by Amy Sherman-Palladino | Distribution: Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, etc.

We may now see this series with a touch of “who’s seen you and who sees you” but it’s still as wonderful, as happy place as ever. A superb biting period comedy and wonderfully shot.

It can be seen on Prime Video | Criticism

    ‘Russian Doll’ (Russian Doll) T2

    Russian doll

created by Natasha Lyonne, Leslye Headlan, and Amy Poehler | Distribution: Natasha Lyonne, Chloe Sevigny, Charlie Barnett

Its first season was brutal and this second installment has been even better. The loop is reinvented to put us back into a new temporary nightmare, this time via the New York subway.

It can be seen on Netflix | Criticism

    ‘Mythic Quest’ S3

    Mythic Quest Photo 030208

created by Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, Rob McElhenney | Distribution: Rob McElhenney, Charlotte Nicdao, etc.

Within the great office comedies category, Ubisoft’s continues to be a great example of how to address both the genre and the world of videogames with a season 3 that continues to deliver very, very special episodes.

It can be seen on Apple TV + | Criticism

4 of the best movies based on video games to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max and Disney+

    ‘I don’t like driving’

    Tnt I Don't Like Cond 63a060a27b3fb

created by Borja Cobeaga | Distribution: Juan Diego Botto, Lucía Caraballo, etc.

The only Spanish entry goes to Cobeaga’s latest comedy, which takes us to the world of driving schools when you are already old. Very polished and with directly priceless characters.

It can be seen on TNT Now | Criticism

    ‘Rick and Morty’ S6

    Rick And Morty 60b0dc9f4a6f1

created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon

Harmon and Roiland are spoiling us with the new production rates of this magnificent animated series whose latest season has come to us in two batches, the first a bit “bottle” and the second more “as always”. Hilarious but also aware of his own maturation.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

‘Only Murders in the Building’ (Only Murders in the Building) T2

Only Murders In The Building Season 2

created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman | Distribution: Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez

The podcaster trio returns and they have done so with a season that, although it loses the surprise factor, retains all its ingenuity and even manages to bring a certain self-awareness to the table as it delves deeper into the lore of the building.

It can be seen on Disney+ | Criticism

    ‘Somebody Somewhere’

    Somebody Somewhere

created by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen | Distribution: Bridget Everett, Jeff Hiller, etc.

Almost as soon as the year began, we were able to devour one of the best series of 2022 with this tender comedy about friendship and finding its place once we are over forty.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

    ‘Starstruck’ T2

    Starstruck Season 2 9032cb3

created by Rose Matafeo | Distribution: Rose Matafeo, Nikesh Patel and Emma Sidi

In the “why is this treat so short” category we have this British romantic comedy that jumps from date to date to explore this couple’s relationship. Light, intelligent and hilarious at the same time.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

‘The sex lives of college girls’ (The Sex Lives of College Girls) S2

College Girls Sex Life T2 Critical

created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble | Distribution: Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott

And we end this list with a double from Mindy Kaling. The first, the university partying of these girls who continue to be the most charismatic and with the most chemistry that you can find on television. A new season directly hilarious.

It can be seen on HBO Max | Criticism

    ‘I never’ (Never Have I Ever) T3

    i never3

created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher | Distribution: Maitrey Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnett, Jaren Lewison, etc.

The second series is this monumental teen comedy with a season 3 of Devi’s moves. The best thing is that you think about it and it’s really a one-of-a-kind series with that unusually sensitive exploration of adolescence.

It can be seen on Netflix | Criticism
