“Starting in January, my project is to become a mother again”, reveals Sherlyn exclusivelywho even confesses to us that at one point thought of arriving pregnant and ready to be from this October 9 at 8/7 PM Centro the backstage host of ‘Look Who Dances All Stars’but since you never know exactly what will happen, he preferred to wait until January 2023.
That’s why now, the beloved actress and singer will focus on this project, while she continues to prepare her body to give that little brother or sister to André, who will try to make her have the same biological fatheralthough for her it is already happiness that they will have her as their mother.
We spoke exclusively with Sherlyn about her personal life, and about this great project for Univision, since she confesses that she loves social networks because it precisely allows her to communicate, as she will do now, who also has the advantage of knowing what the participants feel because she was a. But this time his mission will be to show what no one sees, from the work of those behind the camera to: “I want them to see that it’s not all smiles, but tears, blisters, dislocated shoulder.”
–This time you are not going to compete, but you are going to receive all the emotions that you already know, how do you feel?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: I am very grateful for this opportunity, because I have always liked the fact of communicatingThat’s why I like social networks so much. It seems to me that it is a very direct means of communication with the public and I enjoy it very much.. power to enter, Being the host of the most beloved show on television, which is ‘Look Who Dances’, after 9 installments, which is the tenth, is a great honorfor all that it implies, I have worked with Claudia Letelier several times, who is my producerand now is the first time that I have had to work under the command of Nacho Meyer as president of the television station, are like many things that make me have a lot of meaning for me.
Today I stopped on that track again and I remembered many things, like a lot of pain in my bellyof many nerves, of those charged when they did not come out, when I got frustrated, when after rehearsing for 10 hours I went to the hotel to cry because I said: “this is never going to work out for me”, and then see that something happens, and that the music plays and the magic happensand that the dancers are wonderful and guide you and help you…
It was like doing a very cool, very nice flashback of how life has evolved for me. of that competition and the woman I was at that time, the woman I am, who was still full of insecurities and eager to prove many thingsand now the fact that I became a mom, that I’m older or what, but i feel much more settledI do not sit in the middle of the hurricane.
-In past interviews, you told me that when you participated in ‘Mira Quien Baila’, you had so much self-pressure, that you didn’t allow yourself to flow like you did in ‘Tu Cara Me Suena’. And today that you stood on that track, what would you say to that Sherlyn?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: I wouldn’t change anything because It has been part of the evolution, and part of the fact that I wanted my insecurities to be mitigated when making it perfectthat I did not miss a step, to finish the rehearsal and continue rehearsing in my hotel, and continue practicing, and stretching my leg and that I wanted to do everything so, so, so correctly, and that the years gave me like this part to relax and enjoy and say: “You’ve already lived it, it’s horrible, and you’ve already seen how you live when you enjoy it “… I would say to that Sherlyn from those years, “It will pass, this pressure will pass and your life will get better and every day you will be a happier woman, but meanwhile keep blistering your feet, rehearsing 20 hours, if that makes you feel calm”.
I think that the competitors here are going to have a lot of pressure, because of the judges that are there now, yes, it hit me hard when Casper, Yuri and Dayanara were there, now that Isaac is here!nothing more and nothing less than the best dancer in the world watching his steps… It imposes a lot of respect and a lot of discipline, wherever it goes, moves its hand and it’s art, so that’s going to put a very high level of competition, and the kids are going to have to be very attentive to that. I think Roselyn is going to be more light, Paulina is going to be more light, but I do think Isaac is going to be strict. and since you cannot teach the teacher, then he is going to be an important challenge for them and I think they are going to put their hearts into this competition.
-What advice would you give as a former participant and now host to current participants?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: Let them print their stamp, that they not only pay attention to the step, but that they pay attention to printing their own personality when it comes to being on the track. In contests there are great winners, and the big winners are not necessarily the ones who lift the crown. Dasa is a clear example of this, he has won the affection of the public, he was surely not the best dancer, but he put his heart into it and the guy came out and smiled and waved his hand and the people in the house enjoyed it.
-What do you want to transmit from this host position?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: The heart of the competition I want to go into the areas of the people who make this program possible, I want people to understand the wardrobe workfor example, that there are hours and hours of sequins, of glitter, of stockings, of deciding that a boobie does not come out at show time, of sewing a stocking at ‘5,4, 3…’. The work of cameramen, technicians, choreographers.
The truth is that the team they chose for this show, They are choreographers who give their two hundred thousand percent, and it doesn’t matter that the rehearsal hours are over, even if they are not your choreographer, if you arrive and ask them something, they help youThey teach you, they give you tips, they give you advice. I think that the human part of the show is the most valuable and that is what I want the public to be able to see behind the scenes.. I want them to be able to see that not everything is smiles and a perfect pose, but rather tears, blisters, a dislocated shoulder, they have already stepped on their partner, here there are already several that are beginning to have an incident, and people only see the perfect show because everyone has in mind, the show must go on, but too many things happen behind and that is what I want to show you.
-You are a woman of challenges and adventures, how does your son, André, take this being a child of the world?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: I love it, I try to learn something wherever I go, and yes this week we are going to be here, I already took care of looking for a school that seemed nice to methat the treatment was beautiful, that they have didactic materials that will develop my son’s senses, speak to him in English and Spanish, he will have time to put on a tie and be in an office, but while my intention is for my son to enjoy.
André is a professional enjoyer, if it’s the food, he enjoys it, if it’s the park, he enjoys it, he’s the boy with ripped pants and messy hair and a muddy palette and I want that, I want him to be all the kid he can be, and the fact that he goes and makes friends, I think it’s going to be a training. At some point we all go through changes, for friends who don’t always stay, for the job that was perhaps the job of your dreams and one day it disappears, for the change of city, which already costs us so much as adults.because we are rooted in so many things… What I want is that André is a resilient child, who understands that as long as he has peace and love wherever he iseverything else can change.
–Did you dream it would be like this?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: No, I didn’t dream it like that, I always thought that André was going to be perfectly combed, the boy who sat up straight, because I’m like very strict in many thingsand I’m very disciplined, and I swore it would be like this… When I saw my son, and understood his personality, I said: “André comes with another mission”. He is the boy with the eternal smile, he is mischievous, he climbs the tree, he loves dogs, he is a sociable boy… I understood that we cannot impose personality on any child.
It was a wonderful surprise, and It has challenged me a lot as a mom to understand that, if suddenly it caught her attention and she turns around and dies laughing, you can’t get madr, you have to find different ways to make them understand. It has been incredible, motherhood has been a beautiful journey because I have the best partner and it is going so well that I am ready to be a mother again..
-Do you have the date for the next one in mind or is it still among your dreams?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: I am already moving what has to be moved, visits to the doctor, regular check-ups with the gynecologist to see when we are going to start doing the whole process, which is a bit of a long process… I was thinking of doing it before the show, but I thought it was going to be like a lot of pressure and you never know how it’s going to go.… Once the show is over I’ll give myself a month for Christmas and New Years, stuff, and starting in January my project since the beginning of the year is to become a mom again.
-Do you want to have a biological brother of André or does it matter to you?
Sherlyn Gonzalez: We are going to try to make him the biological brother of Andréwhat happens is that when I got pregnant I thought I was only going to have one child, and then the plans have changed. We are going to try to make it that way, hopefully it can, and if it isn’t, fine. it will be his brother, his sister and period because the mother is the same.
