After almost a week of waiting, ‘TQG’ came out, the collaboration of Shakira with Karol G. The song, which has lyrics full of hints to his ex-partners, has some very direct phrases from Gerard Piqué and his new girlfriend Clara Chía, with whom he would have been unfaithful to Shakira.
The song, which lasts for more than three minutes, is basically a song by a woman who went through a disappointment in love that she has already overcome.
Shakira would have launched her messages very well managed, starting with the name. ‘TQG’, which means ‘You Stayed Big’, would be a dart from the Colombian taken from her previous song against her ex and his new girlfriend.
In one of the verses of the single ‘La Bichota’ and ‘Shak’ they say that their exes already have other women whom each one nicknames as “babies”, but that they keep looking for them, however, they make it clear that they are not interested in returning to those relationships.
More directly Shakira goes against the ex-soccer player in the second stanza that says: “Seeing you with the new one hurt me. But I’m already set for mine. I forgot what we lived through and that’s what offended you, that even life improved me. You are no longer welcome here. I saw that your girlfriend dumped me. But that’s not even angry. I laugh, I laugh.”
Another of the phrases from ‘TQG’ that would be dedicated to Piqué is sung by Karol G and talks about the money he is producing from his musical career. “I don’t have time for what I don’t contribute, I’ve already changed my north, making money as a sport… Filling up the accounts, the shows, the parking lot and the passport”, intones ‘La Bichota’.
As if that were not enough, there is a lapidary phrase for the Catalan that speaks of the infidelity that he would have committed when he and the Barranquillera were together.
“You looking outside for food; and me saying that it was monotony, and now you want to go back, I already supposed it. You look happy with your new life. But if she knew that you’re still looking for me”Shakira sings.
In ‘TQG’ the Colombians also assure that after ending their relations with Anuel AA and Gerard Piqué they went to another level.
“You left and I put on the triple M: better, tougher, more level”, they sing together.
