Thor: Love and Thunder had a ridiculous scene in its footage. However, as Chris Hemsworth has explained, that sequence was cut.
During an interview with the journalist Kevin McCarthy, Chris Hemsworth explained some very interesting details about Thor: Love and Thunder. More specifically, about a ridiculous dance scene that was finally cut from the movie of Marvel Studios. He didn’t even convince Taika Waititi!
“There was…to an ABBA song…but it didn’t make the movie for a few reasons. It’s a full dance scene. It’s a full dance off shooting lightening out his finger tips…”

When Kevin McCarthy discussed the actor’s dance side of his career and asked for an Asgardian god dance sequence, Chris Hemsworth explained that there was a scene in Thor: Love and Thunder in which God of Thunder Show off your dancing skills. Apparently, she was listening to a song by ABBA background. Unfortunately, that scene will not be shown in theaters because it was cut.
- Kevin McCarthy: “We talked about Spiderhead and the dance aspect of your career, and the things you’ve done dancing. We need a Thor dance scene at some point.”
- Chris Hemsworth: “There was one in Thor: Love and Thunder with an ABBA song, but it didn’t make it into the movie for various reasons. It’s a full dance scene. I mean, it’s a complete dance.”
For those who don’t know, ABBA is a musical group of the pop genre, known for songs like dancing-queen, I Have a Dream either Take a Chance on Me.
The actor’s learning over the years
On the other hand, Chris Hemsworth was also asked about what he had learned about himself thanks to the Marvel character. It’s been many years playing it. The actor replied that he had learned a lot about the character’s vulnerability. He talked about his journey from the first Asgardian god movie until now, before the premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder.
“The first movie was too much. He was a young man, almost a teenager, trying to understand what he needs to be a man and embody everything it takes to be a mature adult,” Chris Hemsworth explained before Thor: Love and Thunder. “There was a kind of uncertainty with the character, as it was for me playing him. I didn’t know if they would recast me at any time. As the character has evolved, I have grown as a person. I think what he didn’t have in the previous movies is that vulnerability. On and off screen, we walk around and think we must be safe. I think that vulnerability provides a perfect point of empathy for individuals, and also for fictional characters. They allow you to be open and say, ‘Look, this is the truth, this is how I feel.’ The vast majority of people want to support you, so you are accessible and relatable. Also have a sense of humor, don’t take yourself too seriously. I think because the character has done that, I’ve felt it too.”
