Queen surprised all his followers with the publication of the song Face It Aloneplayed by the iconic Freddie Mercury, who was the leader of the British group.
Brian May and Roger Taylor, guitarist and drummer, respectively, had already discussed the theme song during an interview in the summer. However, it was not until October 13 that it was made public, exceeding three million views in less than 24 hours.
According to Brian and Roger, the song was recorded in the late 1980s, during an album session. The Miraclebut this was never published and even they themselves forgot it.
However, a few months ago, the musical theme was found by the band’s production and archive team while they were working on the reissue of the aforementioned album, which will be released next November.
We had forgotten about this topic. But there it was, this little gem. It’s wonderful, a real find. It is a very passionate piece.
In accordance with Billboard, Face It Alone It was recorded three years before Mercury died of AIDS-related pneumonia. The song, with shades of melancholy, lasts 04:17 minutes and includes phrases that go straight to the heart.
When something so near and dear to life
explode inside
you feel your soul
Catch fireWhen something so deep and so wide
falls next to you
your cries are heard
So loud and clear…
The reissue of The Miracle It will consist of a collector’s box, eight discs, six unreleased songs and dialogues between the members of the band.
I am happy that our team was able to find this topic. After all these years, it’s great to hear the four of us working in the studio on a great song idea that never came to fruition – until now!
