Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. If you think that the episodes of ‘The Office’ are surreal, maybe you will rethink it after a recent event that happened in Zurich in which a “team building” and some embers have been involved. Does it ring a bell?
Do something Michael!
The incident took place recently on the Au peninsula, on Lake Zurich (Switzerland). He moved there a group of employees of the advertising agency Golbachwhere a private event took place that ended in the worst possible way.
Apparently, they came up with the brilliant idea of organizing a group activity that consisted of go barefoot for several meters over hot coals hot. To no one’s surprise, several ambulances had to be called to attend to the 25 woundedwho received medical assistance, of which 13 are still hospitalized for serious burns.
From Goldbach they assure that it was a “voluntary activity”, in which “no employee was forced to participate“, that “they are very sorry for the incident” and “are doing everything possible so that their employees recover quickly.” It is also known that the “mishap” had about 150 witnesses.
It is inevitable that it comes to mind ‘The Office’ season 3 episode 23, ‘Beach Games’, in which the head of the Dunder Mifflin company, Michael Scott, proposed to his employees to walk on hot coals as a method to decide his successor in the company. In that episode, Pam commented: “I’m going to do it and I hope to burn my feet badly and go to the hospital. That’s the mood when you walk on hot coals, right?”. Surely Goldbach’s employees must have thought the same.
