The catalog of Netflix it focuses on recent productions -and there are really good ones-, but from time to time it gives us joy by including titles that go back a few more years in time. Directed by Martin Brestwho shortly before had shown to move like a fish to water in this type of proposal with ‘Super detective in Hollywood’, tells the story of a bounty hunter who has to catch an accountant who has stolen from the mafia. That leads to a bumpy road trip, as the scammer is obviously going to do whatever it takes to escape.
What stands out above all else in ‘Midnight Run’ is the great duo formed by Robert DeNiro and the sadly deceased charles grodin. And it is that whoever thought that they could form a comic couple without completely leaving aside the most intense part of the story, was completely right. It reaches such a level of fluidity and fun that it almost seems as if they were born to work together here.
It also helps how dynamic the script is. george rooster, Well, we have seen many similar stories, but very rarely did they get as hooked as here, where the different setbacks that arise along the way only add up to make ‘Midnight Escape’ a first-rate entertainment. And it is that the unlikely cocktail of genres is very well spun so that later its protagonists are the ones who take over the function.
