One of the characters that founded what is now Marvel is Namor, who took more than 20 years to reach the cinema, something that explains the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige
With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, one of the characters who laid the foundations of what we know today as The House of Ideas finally comes to the cinema, in the case of Namor, the Sub-Sailor, an antihero who was on the radar of Marvel Studios for 18 years.

The rights to Namor were held by Universal Studios, the same company that owns the rights to the Hulk. Since 1997 it was planned to present Namor in a solo film, but for various reasons this film had difficulties.
At the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige noted that Namor was among the first characters considered to make it to the big screen.

“Namor was always on the (Marvel Studios) charts, we commissioned a script 18 years ago, but the timing and the idea were never right.”
Namor was able to introduce himself in Black Panther 1
The Sub-Mariner was created by Bill Everett in 1931, and his exploits began years before there was even Timely Comics, the publisher that later bought his rights and eventually became Marvel Comics.
It was even thought of introducing Namor in the first Black Panther tape, during the post-credits scene, in something similar to how Thor’s existence was hinted at in Iron Man 2.
“Ryan Coogler, in the first Black Panther movie, started launching a war between kingdoms. And if you really added a cultural specificity to Namor, and that’s certainly what he’s done in this movie”.
Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from the world powers that intervene after the death of King T’Challa.
As the people of Wakanda struggle to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must unite with the help of the Dogs of War, Nakia and Everett Ross, and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will feature the return of Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Lupita N’yongo and Angela Basset. Mexican Tenoch Huerta joins as Namor, the Submariner.
Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released in the Mexican Republic on November 9, 2022.
