In an increasingly competitive world, people have to do our best to stand out. For this reason, some become completely obsessed with the idea of triumph, while for others the most important thing is to enjoy the experience that a new challenge can offer us.
Apparently, this is how a proud mother thinks, who, excited, waited for her daughter near the finish line of a marathon, without caring about the position in which the runner would arrive, because beforehand she was aware of the triumph that for her It represented fulfilling a dream.
The runner is named Delia Carolina Pérez, a woman who decided to sign up for the 2022 marathon in the Mexican city of León, Guanajuato. Apparently, this is the first sporting event in which Delia participates, so for her it represented a real challenge.
I was singing, at another point, I was crying, but I reached the finish line, that was the goal. My mom was my goal, so that she would carry the moment in her mind and heart always, throughout her life.
With the fixed idea of meeting her goal, Delia did not give up and advanced at her own pace, covering step by step the 42 kilometers that the marathon covered. Meanwhile, her mother trusted her, because she was convinced that she would make it. For this reason, she waited for her at the end of the road with a small sign that read the phrase: “Yes, she could be beautiful. Bravo Bravo”.
Upon crossing the finish line, mother and daughter hugged each other happily, because despite the fact that Delia was the last of the participants to arrive, for them finishing the race represented a huge triumph. Also, how not to celebrate? If Delia accomplished this difficult challenge in six hours and seven minutes.
I am very happy, I am tired, but I am satisfied. I never thought that this would be like daily life, where you run into challenges, with desperation, where you can achieve it if you put your mind to it.
His story is so inspiring that it certainly makes us want to follow his example. If you love running, we think it’s time to find out when and where the next marathon will take place in your city. Of course, it would be very nice to win, but the most important thing will be to reach a new goal. You sign up?
