Despite the fact that five series were announced to reach digital platforms in 2023, Marvel Studios would only release a couple of productions during the year
Series have become an important part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe narrative, and since 2021 digital platforms have been a major arm for Marvel Studios.
Do not miss: The series that will make up Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
In two years, Marvel Studios has released eight series, but in 2023 this number will drop drastically, considering that phase five contemplates the launch of seven series.
Let’s remember that Kevin Feige announced that in 2023 five series would see the light of day on digital platforms, but now Marvel Studios reconsidered these releases.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that in 2023 Marvel Studios will premiere the second season of Loki, as well as the first season of Secret Invasion, they will be the only series that will be released through digital platforms.
Programs like Ironheart, the second season of What If…? and Aghata: Coven of Chaos, which were scheduled to arrive in 2023, could be delayed to 2024, or some to 2025.
According to the sources consulted, only releasing two series in 2023 is due to the need to focus on the quality of post-production, since in recent projects such as Thor: Love and Thunder, there were obvious flaws in editing and special effects.
The site also mentions that projects like Nova and Wonder Man will have a more careful development, so their releases would suffer more months of delay.
