24 hours after the celebration of ‘World Women’s Day’, Maluma pays an impressive tribute to women in his new song ‘La Reina’, where he talks about beauty in diversity, in depth.
“I wrote this beautiful song in a musical camp, and it came to me like a drop from heaven, because for a long time I wanted to pay tribute to women. For me, The most important thing about this song is that the protagonist was not me, but that these spectacular women were reallys and all the women in the entire world who are going to feel identified, ”explained Maluma through a statement sent by his publicist Jennifer Neiman.
What do you mean that the protagonist was not him and that all the women felt identified? To that, because in the video (which you can see at the end of this article) you will see them all, you will find yourself among them or you will find those important women in your life, in these 17 Colombian women who reflect a different personality and essenceas well as a story of its own.
Own story? Yes, women who appear in the video in a way natural, regardless of age, sexuality, culture, race or physical condition… You will see curvaceous, without so many curves, colors, scars, smiles, little wrinkles, gray hair and everything that makes each one of them unique.
“Who told you that you need makeup, if it hurts to put filters on a landscape, what do you need, tell me, you do shine in the crowd, which one was an asshole that gave you a complex, mommy you are a queen”, That’s how the topic begins.
The song that promises to become emblematic, was written by Maluma, Kevin Cruz Moreno, Edgar Barrera, Lenin Yorney Palacios and Luís Miguel Gómez Castaño.
The music video was filmed in Medellin, Colombia; under the direction of Maluma himself, Juan Felipe Zuleta and Cesar ‘Tes’ Pimienta; and produced by his production house Royalty Films.
