In the series, the actress Kirby Howell-Baptiste is the one who embodies Death, who debuted in the chapter The Sound of His Wings, capturing the essence of Morpheus’ sister.
In social networks, Kirby Howell-Baptiste herself shared a photograph where she poses as well as the vignette drawn by Sam Jones, for number 8 of The Sandman.
Howell-Baptiste, the actress who will play Death, revealed in recent days how death is seen in this series of The Sandman as something beautiful and natural.
“Most of the time, when we see a representation of Death, it is very focused on the end. But this character says, ‘I was there at the beginning and I’ll be there at the end.’ Death is born of life”.
The Sandman follows in the footsteps of Morpheus, the God of sleep, and his impact on the world, as he tries to right the cosmic and human mistakes he made during his existence.
The result is a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend seamlessly intertwine.
The first season of The Sandman is now available on the world’s largest platform.
