The recent premiere on Netflix of ‘Enola Holmes 2’ has brought the famous detective created by Arthur Conan Doyle. There are many versions that we have had over the years both in cinema and on television and today it is time to let you know that until December 14 you will be able to watch the wonderful ‘Sherlock’ totally free on RTVE Play.
devised by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatthe same duo that also gave us years later the estimable but inferior ‘Dracula’, this reimagining of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes served, among other things, to catapult fame to benedict cumberbatchwho found the right point to make the character his own without neglecting its essence.
Almost as important is what it brings Martin Freeman like Watson, a bit the voice of sanity within ‘Sherlock’ and that serves as a perfect counterpoint for Holmes. If we add to that a very well chosen cast and skillful scripts, what we are left with is a series of fresh and addictive suspense that also came to us by the dropper, which always helps to value it more when turn it into little less than an event.
Obviously, not all the episodes are equally good, but throughout 4 seasons it manages to remain an option to be taken into account by lovers of television series. Unfortunately, everything points to the fact that we will never have a fifth season, but instead of crying about it, we can always celebrate what we already have. It’s only 13 episodes -although it is fair to remember that they all last like a short film- and you still have more than a month to do it.
