This Thursday, October 12, the long-awaited film arrives in theaters “Halloween Ends“that could be the end of the story starring Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.
For now, it is expected that with this tape, the trilogy that began in 2018 is closed and that gave continuity to the 1978 John Carpenter classic.
This would be the final Battle At Haddonfield, where only one of the two is expected to be the survivor after more than 44 years.
But if you are a fan of the saga, you will know that The Halloween Killer Has Never Really Died, despite the fact that it seems so, it always returns, as it happened in the last two parts of the saga.
There have been some tapes in which it seems that evil has finally been defeated, such as “Halloween ll” (1982) in which he “dies” in a fire or in “Halloween: 20 years later” (1998) where the character played by Jamie Lee Curtis He cuts off his head, but despite this we can see him in another sequel.
Theories about why Michael Myers does not die
The new films are directed by David GordonGreenwho has made it clear that the murderer is not a supernatural being, but he can do extreme things thanks to his evil.
The director relied on what the Dr Loomis (Donald Pleasence) said about “The shape”, who studied his mind and behavior since he murdered his own sister, Judith Myers.
Loomis described his patient as pure evil and that it was the result of a combination between the psychopathy, psychosis and sociopathywhich makes it a complex case, since its symptoms are extreme.
Along with this, he can put aside the symptoms of pain, because in his head there is only revenge and from there he draws the strength to continue killing.
Despite this, in the last part “Halloween Kills“, Michael ceases to be a being of flesh and blood, because it seems that he feeds on all the fear of the people who fight against him.
“He is capable of spectacular things but not impossible. I don’t see him as a supernatural entity, but I do see the fear as an element that generates, exacerbates and transcends right into the character and moves an entire city,” Gordon said.
Although that is the official version of this chronology and that it goes hand in hand with what its creator, Carpenter, also says, the writer Richard Curtis, who is the author of the novelization, assures that the supernatural theme is present, since Michael sees the ghost of a crippled boy named Enda who tells him to kill people.
Meanwhile in “Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers” where they continue with the story of his niece, Jamie, who is old and about to give birth, and her son is the new target of the also called “Boogeyman”.
In this tape, Myers would have been cursed by an el thorn cult since he was a baby, and a demon would have been introduced to him that asked him to sacrifice every October 31, that is, on Halloween night, especially his family, to pass to the level of possession and reach mortality.
Now that we are close to being able to enjoy the premiere, we can only wait to see what Myers’ fate will be and draw our own conclusions about his mortality or not.
