The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that the alert came from the Google company. The reports were forwarded to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). These detailed that from several IP addresses, located in Ecuador, images were transmitted and downloaded with child pornography.
With this background, the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Transnational and International Organized Crime, with the support of the Cyber Crimes Unit of the National Police, began an investigation that led to the whereabouts of Manuel MSwho was sentenced to 10 years in prison, by a Court of Criminal Guarantees.

The evidence that the Prosecutor’s Office presented, at the trial hearing, revealed that he is the owner of the email accounts where the photographs and videos related to the crime were stored.
One of the experts from the National Police testified at the hearing. He informed the judges about a sequence of images in which the defendant appears recording himself on videos.
Another piece of evidence presented by the prosecutor in the case was the testimony of an expert psychologist, who assessed the defendant. In her report, she concluded that the citizen shows states of conscience and will in front of his actions.
After assessing the evidence, the Court decided to accept the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, handing down a conviction against the defendant, considering that attempted against the sexual integrity of infants by forcing them to participate in sexual acts captured in photographs and videos, which were later transmitted over the Internet.
The judges also imposed a fine of 40 unified basic salaries, which is around $18,000.
The crime of commercialization of child pornography is contemplated in article 104 of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP) and is punishable by a custodial sentence of ten to thirteen years.
