Yesterday, Tuesday, May 2, the International Day Against Bullying took place. A fact that sadly affects many young people in our country and served as a gathering in ‘La Ventana’, the Ser program presented by Carles Francino. The space was visited by the great Fernando Tejerowhich opened up like never before and recounted both the problems he suffered as a child due to his homosexuality and the sexual abuse he suffered at an early age.
The man from Córdoba, famous for his mythical roles in projects such as ‘Aquí no hay quien viva’ or ‘La que se avecina’, admits that he found his vocation when he was only fourteen years old: “I used to fly. Sometimes I imagined that I was on stage and the clients of the fishmonger were my audience. From there I rescued things for later”, recalls the interpreter, mentioning his stage as a fishmonger.
However, the actor’s childhood and youth were not exactly a bed of roses. And it is that he was the victim of harassment from his colleagues due to his sexual orientation: “I lived through a screwed up time, very screwed up, ten years of Franco, the transition, and It wasn’t me until I arrived in Madrid because I was homosexualwhen I was little I had a lot of pen, and they already insulted me, they called me ‘faggot'”, Tejero explains to Francino.
The confession of the protagonist of ‘Football Days’ did not end there: “This is the first time I have told it in my life,” says Fernando before blurting out what no one expected: “They abused me. I was sexually abused by a guy older than me“, he adds. This moment affected the artist in such a way that he came to deny himself for years: “I did not want to accept myself either by society, by my family… And, then, I took my pen away by correcting myself same. My voice is hoarse today and I stutter because I cannot express myself as I was”, Tejero ditch.
