Mexican corrido singer Peso Pluma has had incredible success in recent months. To add to his growth as an artist, on the night of Friday, April 28 made history by becoming the first regional Mexican artist to appear on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon.
Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, better known as Featherweight, attended the program, which is one of the most famous on television in the United States, to perform his hit ‘Ella Baila Sola’.
Contrary to other artists, the young man from Jalisco was not interviewed by Fallon, however, he appeared to sing the song that has become one of the most played songs not only in the United States and Mexico, but also in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Israel, Finland, Denmark, France, Belgium, Hong Kong and even in the United Arab Emirates.
When the artist finished singing, Jimmy Fallon yelled excitedly: “Oh, come on! Thanks my friend! That’s how Featherweight does it.”
The song “Ella Baila Sola” was also one of the favorites this year at the famous Coachella festival and has even become one of the most viral topics on social networks.
Who is Featherweight?
The Mexican tumbado corrido singer was born on June 15, 1999 in Jalisco, Mexico. His mother is from Sinaloa and his father is from Jalisco.
He is currently 23 years old and his professional career has shown a significant rise in recent months. He has become one of the artists with the most reproductions on the Spotify platform in Mexico and the United States.
When he was in high school he became interested in music and started playing the guitar. It was in 2020 that she formed a musical group with his cousins and recorded his first album.
His family lives in Badiraguato, the municipality where Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera is from.
