Recently, advertising campaigns have had a great interest in collaborating with different personalities from the LGBT community. Mainly in the month of pride when different brands display the rainbow flag in their image.
Some have shown a commitment to equality and gender diversity, trying to give it visibility within the commercial industry that until now had been very closed. However, this type of action is not accepted by the entire public, as some do not agree that diverse gender personalities are the image of a product.
An example of this is the popular American alcoholic beverage brand Bud Light. This was criticized by a good part of its consumers after carrying out an advertising campaign with a transgender activist. This collaboration generated repudiation in its most conservative consumers, who began to throw away their beer cans in protest.
Dylan Mulvaney uploaded to his account instagram various company-sponsored publications. In these he presumes that he drinks said drink and that he also received a can with his face printed on it.
Mulvaney, who recently celebrated her first year after completing her transition to women, together with the brand developed a contest to award a $15,000 prize. “Happy March Madness! I just found out this was all about sports and not just saying it’s a crazy month! The celebration of this sporty thing”he wrote in the description.
After the collaboration took place, thousands of fans shared on their social networks to give their point of view, criticize and even declare that they would stop consuming it.
In a video uploaded to TikToka user showed how he got rid of large amounts of beer that he had stored at home, throwing it directly into the trash: “Out with the Bud Light. Will Coors Light be next?
Another one that drew a lot of attention was the controversial country singer Kid Rock, who recorded himself while shooting directly at boxes with an arm4.
