The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) has unveiled the first alliance of its members including Latino stars: Aubrey Plaza, Diane Guerrero, Eva LongoriaGina Torres, Gloria Calderon KellettHarvey Guillen, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Justina MachadoLin-Manuel Miranda, Rosario Dawson, and wilmer valderrama.
The NHMC Visionary Alliance (The NHMC Visionary Alliance) led this year by Eva Longoria, Justina Machado, Wilder Valderrama and Lin-Manuel Miranda among others it has a motto for this 2023 and it is that Hispanics: “We are the rule and not the exception”. This to set aside a little the Latino representation in different artistic edges in which it is said that: “Latinos are in fashion” and enter fully into real social issues in direct conversation with the main important organizations in the country.
visionary alliance is made up of some of the most dynamic Latin voices and celebs in the creative space who are aligned in their support of mission, innovative programming, and advocacy for NHMC. Eva, Wilmer and Lin-Manuel will connect, collaborate and create opportunities for Latino talent in the entertainment industry through NHMC programmingincluding the Series Writers Program and Latinx Stream Showcase.
“These members are visionaries in their own right who have paved their own paths in this industry and throughout their careers have been champions of what we stand for and stand for every day. We are committed to continuing the work to elevate Latino creatives while advocating for representation and inclusion across multiple industries and within our government,” said Brenda Victoria Castillo, President and CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
“Screen representation is important: it determines not only how others see us, but also how we see ourselves. I’m excited to join the first Alianza Visionaria through the National Hispanic Media Coalition so we can put conversations about improving diversity and inclusion behind us. Together we will actively work for a new Hollywood that elevates Latino and Hispanic voices so the world can see the joy, power and heart of our community in ways that are still very rare. The media can make a difference in our world and together we can make real change.” Eva Longoria.
