The beautiful Dominican Emily Toastwho is also one of the stars of the series FX “Mayans MC” interpreting “Leticia”, spoke in a exclusive interview for La Opinión and spoke of his hard and very disciplined journey through hollywood. But also he sent a message to the great executives of the film and television mecca in the United States, thus bravely raising his voice for Latinos.
TO Emily Toast he is not afraid of having interpreted to “Leticia from “Mayans MC” for 5 years and that implies being pigeonholed. She feels that just as she grew on a personal and professional level, her character did too and she intends to surprise in the final of the tv series than fx. The Dominican admits to admiring Latin stars who, like her, began a long time ago in hollywood and made the executives’ eyes turn to see them.
As well as Eva Longoria, Eugenio Derbez, America Ferrera, Zoe Saldana and Danny Trejo, Emily also sent a strong message and practically sang it to Hollywood: “I would say yes. We have made progress… But we still have a long way to go in progress to bring that representation, that diversity to the industry. First that the papers are worthwhile, that they are real, that they have “Deep” (depth in Spanish) We didn’t get it… I mean, it’s so impossible. I wouldn’t say impossible, but it’s difficult…”.

He also talked about how his mom emilia toastVenezuelan by birth, practically escaped with her from Dominican Republic leaving behind a marriage and many luxuries to fulfill the dream of seeing his daughter succeed in hollywood: “Wow, there really were many challenges. First the language, English is not my first language (my first language is Spanish)… We had nothing, we arrived with $500 dollars in our pockets. We didn’t even have papers to work with. There were many challenges but that’s what I say, don’t give up”. She sentenced one of the latin women most influential right now in the United States.
