In a statement, the 62-year-old artist (whose real name is Paul Hewson) commented, “I miss being on stage and the closeness of the audience of U2. At these shows I have some stories to sing and some songs to tell…When I started writing this book I hoped to draw in detail what I had previously only outlined in songs. The people, places and possibilities in my life. “Surrender” is a word full of meaning for me. A word I just circled until I gathered my thoughts for the book.”
As to U2, the band is putting the finishing touches on their long-awaited new album, due out next year. They will also return to the stage with a residence in Las Vegas, with which the gigantic auditorium will be inaugurated MSG Sphere.
