A full race that had not yet been considered finalized. In fact, Bernard Cribbins had recently been seen on the set of ‘Doctor Who’ where he reportedly went to take part in the series’ 60th anniversary specials.
Russell T Daviesshowrunner of the series, wanted to dedicate a few words to him:
“I knew everyone! She was talking about the Beatles and David Niven and how she once sat on the stairs at a party imitating bird calls with TH White. So she would say, “like I said to Ashley Banjo last week…” she loved being in Doctor Who. She said “Children call me grandfather on the street.” Her first day was on location with Kylie Minogue, but all her eyes, including Kylie’s, were on Bernard. He showed up with a suitcase full of props, just in case, including a rubber chicken. And what an actor. (…) he would call on the phone and say “I have an idea! What if I attack a Dalek with a paintball gun?” Okay Bernard, that’s how it was! (…) Thanks for everything, my old soldier. A legend has left the world.”
