The British newspaper Daily Mail reported that Benedict Cumberbatch was at home with his family. When Jack Bissell, a former chef at a five-star hotel, came to the door with a knife.
“I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burnsyelled the man, who was arrested after a police investigation found the shooter’s DNA on the intercom at the Cumberbatch residence.
Jack Bissell has a prior arrest record, most notably an apprehension in 2015, stemming from a series of protests against British military intervention in Syria.
“Naturally, the whole family was absolutely terrified and thought that this guy would come in and hurt them… The fact that it was a targeted intrusion makes it that much scarier.” a source close to the Hollywood actor told the Daily Mirror.
The causes that led the ex-cook to try to attack the protagonist of Doctor Strange are unknown. Bissel was fined £250 and the court issued a three-year restraining order.
Neither those responsible for Bissel’s former employment nor the Benedict Cumbertbatch press office have made an official statement on the matter.
