No series has given so much to talk about in recent weeks as ‘The Last of Us’. Many times it has been to praise this adaptation of the popular video game that can be seen on HBO Max in Spain, but it has also received very harsh attacks, especially the review bombing campaign towards its third episode. nickofferman has already ruled on it and now it has been Bella Ramsey the one who wanted to make things clear.
“they will have to get used to it“
The actress who gives life to Ellie in ‘The Last of Us’ has highlighted in an interview with GQ that she is not too concerned about these attacks and that this type of viewer will have no choice but to get used to that the series is not going to back down on that issue:
I’m not particularly worried about it. I know people will think what they want. But they will have to get used to it. If you don’t want to watch the series because it has a gay plot or because it has a trans character, that’s up to you, and you’re missing out. You don’t scare me. I think that comes from a place of defiance.
In addition, Ramsey also revealed that he had had the opportunity to be in the writers’ room who is already working on the already confirmed second season of the series and that everything indicates that it will be very faithful to the second video game, especially in everything related to queer content:
It’s been great hearing you guys talk about ideas. I’ve seen quite a bit of gameplay from the second game, just out of curiosity. I think the series will most likely follow the storyline of the games again. I don’t think there’s much need to fill in the gaps.
The change that does seem likely is that a single season is not going to be enough for the second video game, since craig mazin has already made it clear that “The idea would be to do more than one more season”. We’ll see what happens, but I doubt that HBO will object, that ‘The Last of Us’ is being an impressive success in audiences.
