Oscar Mattei is 90 years old and throughout his life he worked in different jobs, he was a tailor, bookseller and candy seller but he always wanted to pursue his dream of being a lawyer.
It is not easy to have access to education, in fact, it is increasingly difficult to be able to finish university studies, the man born in 1933 knew from a very young age that this was not an option because he had to take money home.
When he was 85 years old, he entered the university and from the beginning he stood out in classes, being a model student. Regardless of his age, he felt a great fascination for his career and was able to overcome any obstacle.
The man from Rome, Italy is a great-grandfather and grandfather, what he achieved is the best example he can give to his family, that of never giving up and always pursuing what they long for.
According to information from RAIMatteo became a Doctor of Law with academic excellence by passing all his subjects with always the highest grades.
To obtain his degree, Mattei presented the thesis “Rights and duties of the federated athlete”, which deals with sports law, a current topic that he can skilfully mix with his knowledge of Law.
Although his path was full of negative comments about his age and that it was already too late for him to be studying, however, he showed them the opposite and his much younger classmates than Matteo were surprised by his energy and enthusiasm for studying.
The University of Rome, the institution where he was able to finish his degree, did not miss the opportunity and congratulated him for graduating with a grade of 100/100, one of the highest on record.
