The Movistar Plus+ platform has just unveiled What is Berto Romero up to again?. The comedian co-presenter of ‘Nobody knows anything’ is already filming his new series after the magnificent ‘Look what you’ve done’, a horror comedy with the title of ‘The other side‘.
With a release date for 2023, it is about a ghost story that will have six episodes of thirty minutes each in which the script (co-written with Rafel Barcelo Y Enric Pardo) will navigate between horror and comedy.
From Movistar Plus + they have not advanced details about the plot of the series, which in the words of Berto follows the classic tradition of ghost storiesadapted to the style of scriptwriters and directors (Javier Ruiz Caldera and Alberto de Toro.)
‘The other side’ of terror
‘El otro lado’ has a cast made up of regular collaborators such as Andreu Buenafuente Y Eva Ugarte. In addition, we will have Maria Botto, Nacho Vigalondo, Albert Garcia, Maria Pascual Y Hugo Morenilla.
It is not the first time that Berto has delved into terror, since the comedian made the parody ‘Zombies’ over a decade ago for TNT. However, the creator of the series acknowledges that this foray represents quite a challenge:
«Since the genesis of the project, ‘The Other Side’ is a series that is trying to find a very particular balance between comedy and terror. This balance between the two genres is very determined, with a tone that is also very specific. At the same time, we believe that the way in which we are approaching the project is not widely seen.
» Regarding the comedy, we follow the line that we discovered in ‘Look what you’ve done’, not forced and very naturalistic, letting the characters generate that comedy by the clash between them. With terror, we are doing the same thing that we did with the drama in ‘Look what you’ve done’, treating it in the most sincere way possible.
