Given the success of the retellings of fairy tales, Warner Bros has decided to get on the bandwagon and bet on a ‘Lunar Chronicles’ moviethe best-selling literary saga that reinvents classic stories in a science fiction key.

This month it was announced that Warner Bros had closed an agreement with Locksmith Animation to produce, develop and distribute various animated films worldwide. As a result of this agreement, the study behind ‘Ron gives error’ confirmed various projects in which they will engage throughout 2023.
One of them is an animated adaptation of ‘Lunar Chronicles’, the youth saga created by Marissa Meyer (‘Heartless’) who has achieved the status of best-seller with each of its installments since they began to be published in 2012.
The tetralogy (in addition to several story books) gives a twist to the classic tales that we already know and transfers them to science fiction: ‘Cinderella‘ in ‘Cinder’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ in ‘Scarlet’, ‘Rapunzel’ in ‘Cress’ and ‘Snow White’ in ‘Winter’.
We do not know if the film will summarize the entire saga or will focus only on the first novel, which tells us the story of Cinder, a cyborg who survives in the futuristic city of New Beijing. What he doesn’t know is that her fate is linked to that of three other young women, who will be decisive in changing the course of Queen Luna’s tyrannical rule.
Although there are still no specific dates, it is known that Kalen Egan and Travis Sentell (the creative duo behind ‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’) will write the script and Noelle Raffaele (‘DC Super Hero Girls’) of the direction.
Apart from the adaptation of ‘Lunar Chronicles’, the agreement between Locksmith and Warner also includes ‘Bad fairies’, a thuggish musical comedy Directed by Megan Nicole Dong (‘Centauria’).
