We live in times in which more and more 3-hour films are released, so surely many appreciate meeting with much shorter titles and easy to fit in some free time that we have. Today I am going to talk about one of them, because the wonderful ‘Beyond two infinite minutes’ has just landed in the Amazon Prime Video catalogue.
Why is it worth watching?
The premise is ‘Beyond infinite minutes’ is as simple as it is suggestive: the owner of a cafe is seen talking to himself from his computer screen, but it is also a version that speaks to him from two minutes in the future. A minimal time difference but that will squeeze with great results, becoming one of the best time travel movies in recent cinema.
In addition, those responsible for ‘Más allá de los dos minutos infinitos’ prefer to give the film a comic approach most successful and also at no time is an excuse to be lazy in the plot. And it is that ingenuity is one of its main hallmarks, knowing how to surprise the viewer and even introducing some reflection on the extent to which we are chained to our destiny.
All this with an additional incentive: ‘Beyond the two infinite minutes’ is presented as a huge sequence shotwhich helps the viewer to immerse themselves more in the story and even generates a certain amount of tension about the idea that they may not be able to maintain continuity between everything that is being raised in such a small space.
It is true that it can be a bit bizarre, especially in its final stretch, and that it requires certain leaps of faith -where do they buy those kilometric cables?-, but in general terms it stands out for being a very measured film despite its apparent tendency to lack of control and also its scant 70 minutes of footage flies by.
