Telecinco continues to play desperately with its programs. Given the notable drop in audiences that it is experiencing (with the exception of the Eurobasket, of course), the network has brought forward the premiere of ‘The Island of Temptations’ and has once again introduced changes to ‘Nightmare in Paradise’: Raquel Lozano will join as a new contestant and the debate will be live again.
More changes?
The disappointing premiere in terms of audiences for ‘Nightmare in Paradise’ has led Mediaset to go groping in the dark in reconfiguring your grill. It could be a good time to rethink some of its formats and consider the possibility that, perhaps, stretching the galas so much to cover almost four hours of broadcasting is something that, simply, is no longer interesting.
But no, Telecinco’s response to the sharp drop in audiences in what was going to be its reality star for the fall is to continue pulling its usual strategies. On the one hand, the program will incorporate a new contestant: Raquel Lozano, ex-girlfriend (questionable fact, depending on who you ask) by Omar Montes.
This signing is a clear commitment to stretch the classic plots that reinforce so much in their reality shows. The “romance” between Omar Montes and Marina Ruiz and the presence of Raquel Lozano in the debate to “give her opinion” on the kiss between the two should have already given us the clue that they were not going to miss the opportunity to exploit this plot line and, finally, it will be so.
On the other hand, Telecinco will resume the galas live for the debates, with Pipi Estrada (the first eliminated) as a star guest. Will this be a permanent change? Well, taking into account that the chain is “yes yes”, “yes no” with respect to emissions, nothing guarantees us that next week they will not turn the tables again.
‘Nightmare in Paradise’ broadcasts its main gala on Thursdays, the debate on Sundays and access prime time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
