The 36 page comic will go on sale next September 21five days before the British-Australian actress and singer would have turned 74.
Newton-John was born in Cambridge, England, in 1948, and won four Grammy Awards and numerous American Music Awards, as well as starring in the film adaptation of the stage musical grease.
He met with the musical’s lead, John Travolta, in 2018 for a special screening for the 40th anniversary of the romantic comedythe highest-grossing musical film at the time of its release.
In 2018 Newton-John revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer for the third timeand became an ardent advocate for medical cannabis.
Editor Darren Davis said it was an honor to work with Newton-John on the comic before his passing on August 8, and to get “his insight and exclusive information” that they used.
The comic includes a resource guide on breast cancer. A portion of the proceeds will go to the ONJ Foundation, a charity Newton-John created in 2020 to support research into plant medicine cancer treatments.
