We can say that Brian Cox is many things but he certainly doesn’t mince words. That includes breaking one of those network labels like HBO about not throwing darts at the competition. This time one has gone straight to ‘Billions’, the Showtime drama that we can see in Spain via Movistar Plus +.
Asked in The Times about the continuation of ‘Succession’ beyond season 4, Cox – who plays the patriarch of the Roys – was quite cautious, assuring that although nothing is signed, They did not want to extend the series more than necessary, thus losing “the moment”:
“I do not know. No one has their contracts renewed. Who knows how long it will last? We don’t want it to take longer than expected like with ‘Billions’, which is past its expiration date. That will not happen with our series.”
dramas of billionaires
A taunt towards the set drama, too, in the world of billionaire entrepreneurs. Although she was quite acclaimed at the beginning of her, especially for the performance of both Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, interest in the series has been declining. Still, the series will have a seventh season.
Something that, apparently, Cox does not want to happen with ‘Succession’, whose season 4 would premiere in spring 2023 as stated by Casey Bloys in the hangover of the Emmys. On the other hand, the actor’s statements are also in line with those of the same writers of the series, whose intention is to have a maximum of five installments.
