A couple of days ago we reviewed how the bombing review had returned to make an appearance to adulterate the scores in different online aggregators of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, harshly criticizing the Amazon Prime Video series not based on its values as a television production, but focusing on racial and sociopolitical aspects —something, let’s remember, that distinguishes bombing from a negative review to use—.
hobbits against hate
Well, the reactions from members of the industry have not been long in coming, and the performers who brought Frodo, Pippin, Merry and Sam to life in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy directed by Peter Jackson have been the first in condemn racist attacks to members of the cast and production team of ‘The Rings of Power’.

On one side, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boydthrough the Twitter account of the first, have published an image in which they wear a shirt with ears of different races of Middle Earth with different shades, accompanied by the phrase “Here you are all welcome”.
On the other hand, Sean Astin, the fourth hobbit, has made a similar post in your personal account wearing a cap with the same motif than the shirts of their peers.

But this is not all, since the official Twitter account of the series has published a statement under the hashtag #YouAreAllWelcomeHere as a sign of reject hate speech that have been dumped, and supporting cast members and fans belonging to the BIPOC collective —black, indigenous and people of color—. You can read it below.
“We, the cast of ‘Rings of Power,’ stand together in absolute solidarity and against the unrelenting racism, threats, harassment and abuse that some of our castmates of color are being subjected to on a daily basis. We refuse.” to ignore or tolerate it.
JRR Tolkien created a world that, by definition, is multicultural. A world in which free peoples of different races and cultures unite, in brotherhood, to defeat the forces of evil. ‘The Rings of Power’ reflects that. Our world has never been completely white. Fantasy has never been completely white. Middle Earth is not completely white. Black, indigenous, and people of color belong in Middle-earth, and they are here to stay.
Lastly, we send all our love and fellowship to the fans who support us, especially the fans of color who are being targeted simply for existing in this fandom. We see you, your bravery and your infinite creativity. Your cosplays, fancams, fan art and ideas that make this community richer and remind us of our purpose. You are valid, you are loved, and you belong here. You are an integral part of the Lord of the Rings family.”
