If your idea of paradise is crystal clear waters, sun shining from above and nature that mixes the coast, the mountains and the forest, I have good news because it is waiting for you come true in Mallorca. Above all, in its impressive coves to which how difficult to get there is also part of its charm. Of course, any of these three is worth trying to access once in your life (at least).
Cala Varques
Considered one of the best coves in Mallorca, it is a spot ideal if you want to visit a virgin beach. It is located in Manacor, between Calas de Mallorca and Cala Romàntica, with a length of about 70 meters and about 50 meters wide. In addition to his crystal clear water and postcard fine sand, stands out for a small sea inlet surrounded by a lush forest of pine trees and rocks. It also has some caves around it (the Cueva del Pirata, del Pont or del Xot) that hide stories and that also make the excursion worthwhile.
How to get: Nevertheless, accessing this beach is not difficult although it takes time. From Cala Romantica there is a route on foot of approximately one hour. From Estany den Mas beach you can take a small path that goes up the right side and then runs almost parallel to the coast. Although another way for those who want to avoid the walk is the boat. From Porto Cristo there are excursions that take you through this area of the coast of Mallorca and its virgin coves that are difficult to access.
Sa Calobra
With turquoise blue and very calm waters, Sa Calobra is the impressive mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, formed by boulders and one of the few accesses to the sea that can be found in the Sierra de Tramontana. For thousands of years, the water that flows down the Pareis torrent excavated the bed through which it runs until it reaches the sea. It is a small pebble beach, clean and well maintained. Of course, due to its isolated location, there is not much else to see nearby that is not an hour’s drive away.
How to get: The charm of Sa Calobra lies not only in its beauty, but also in the difficulty of reaching the area. The easiest thing is to go in one of the ferries leaving from Port de Sóller. However, the beach can also be accessed by car or by bus through the one-hour drive through a winding road that is accessed off the MA-10, with a winding descent through the Sierra de Tramuntana. . The good thing is that offers incredible views.
Cala Figuera
In the municipality of Pollença, on the Formentor peninsula, Cala Figuera is hidden: another beautiful cove that was born as a result of rain erosion. A spectacular sea inlet protected on one side by a vertical stone cliff and, on the other, by a more gentle sandstone slope. Behind her rises It’s Fumata 334 m high mountain.
How to get: To get there, you have to go in the direction of the Formentor Lighthouse, where a sign indicating the way. You can park easily. Afterwards, we must descend a small mountain that, in 10 minutes, leaves us in Cala Figuera.
