Now there is no excuse. ‘RRR’ is now available in all homes through Netflix and everyone can enjoy the great action phenomenon of the year not called ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and that comes directly from India. After a strange trick that made a labyrinth to watch it, the maximalist film by SS Rajamouli is now out of hiding to continue expanding his domain.
Of course, it wouldn’t be right to stay there. Recent Indian action cinema has a lot to offer besides memes. We can find other huge and shameless Asian shows on the different streaming platforms. Today we rescue three of them that are highly recommended if you’ve been blown away by ‘RRR’, although I’m sure you have other proposals in mind that could fit.
War (2019)
Address: Siddhartha Anand. Distribution: Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, Dippanita Sharma, R. Bhakti Klein.
A crushing combo of exaggerated action, espionage and intrigue and also some probably unintended homoeroticism . Oh, and colorful musical numbers too. A very Bollywood combination that our western mentality is going to link at various points with incredible hits like ‘Mission Impossible’ or the first ‘Top Gun’.
Of course, at the level of action it doesn’t have much to envy, with an impressive display of Siddharth Anand, in addition to the impressive chemistry that Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff have.

‘Murali Lightning’ (‘Minnal Murali’, 2021)
Address: BasilJoseph. Distribution: Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Jude Anthany Joseph, Guru Somasundharam, Mammukoya.
Some of you have already suggested it in other articles and it’s not hard to see why. ‘Rayo Murali’ is a fun and lighthearted adventure that takes details from the superhero genre and applies it to the classic Bollywood blockbuster structure.
In this film we see a modest tailor acquire strange powers after being struck by lightning. Without great budgetary boasts, he creates a fresh and highly entertaining film where the sense of fantasy is the order of the day.
Watch on Netflix
‘Sooryavanshi’ (2021)
Address: Rohit Shetty. Distribution: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgan.
Leaving aside its excessively propagandistic character of the police forces – even more so than is usually expected from a police action film – this film by Akshay Kumar really has a lot of the bleak epic of ‘RRR’.
In fact, before Rajamouli’s film was the first big success in India after the pandemic. And it’s not hard to understand why, given his powerful display of tension and intrigue that is not cut in the nonsense. Ending action scenes with a tune that screams the name of the movie is always a hit.
Watch on Netflix (you have to change your account language to English in order to watch it with Spanish subtitles)
