The race consisted of 17 laps and Checo once again showed that few drivers dominate street circuits as well as he does, such as the one in Baku, the Azerbaijani capital.
Pérez finished ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen, who retains the world lead ahead of Sunday’s Grand Prix.
Leclerc started on pole, however, he lost position on lap 7 to Checo’s RB19, who did not slacken his pace for the rest of the race. Verstappen, after a bad start, had to move up positions to reach third place.
For tomorrow’s Grand Prix, Leclerc will once again start first, followed by the Red Bulls of Verstappen and Pérez.
