Back Box Revelation, a musical group that was born in 2005 and well known in Belgium, was in charge of organizing this event.
The 100 drummers were at the Sportpaleis, an arena located in the city of Antwerp, where Foo Fighters gave their last show in Belgium on June 11, 2018.
“Taylor Hawkins was the greatest drummer of our time. Honoring him with this tribute was an experience we will never forget. It’s the first time I’ve played with 100 other drummers. It sounded great, I even got goosebumps all over my body! It is wonderful to honor our hero like this”, commented Gino Kesteloot, one of the musicians who participated in this emotional tribute.
The tribute was recorded and uploaded to YouTube, where you can see the 100 drummers, including an 8-year-old boy, playing this song perfectly combined, which is about anonymous heroes who don’t appear on television or in the movies, but do make an impact. the lives of those around them.
On December 31, 2022, Foo Fighters announced that the band would continue to provide shows despite Hawkins’ absence.
“As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year our band has ever known, we remember how grateful we are for the people we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band we were, and without Taylor, we know we’re going to be a different band going forward. We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he did to you. And we know that when we see them again, and we will soon, he will be there in spirit with all of us every night,” the statement Foo Fighters released on December 31, 2022 read.
Foo Fighters will begin their next tour on May 24, confirming so far 17 shows throughout the United States and Canada.
