Despite reports that they “exorcised” the production of Constantine 2, Warner Bros. Pictures is not contemplating the cancellation of this upcoming film
One of the announcements that excited Hellblazer fans is the making of Constantine 2, with Keanu Reeves reprising his role as John Constantine, a project that is still going strong, despite rumors that ensured its cancellation.

In recent weeks, as SMASH reported to you in a timely fashion, DC Comics and Warner Bros. had greenlit Constantine 2, with Keanu Reeves set to star and France Lawrence set to direct.
But some reports on social networks claimed that after the announcements that James Gunn released on January 31, the paranormal detective would hang up his raincoat again.
It was not until the Entertainment Weekly site spoke with a Warner Bros. spokesperson who assured that Constantine 2 remains in the studio’s plans, which denied the insiders who ensured its cancellation.
What is not known is whether this film will land in Chapter 1 Gods and Monsters of the DC Universe, which will include film, television, animation and video game projects.
In this plan, the Swam Thing movie was announced, a character with whom John Constantine debuted in the history of the DC Universe, under the creation of Alan Moore.
In a recent interview with Slash Film, which compiled SMASH, Keanu Reeves revealed that year after year he pushed Warner Bros. executives to get Constantine 2 finally made.
“I don’t know if it was unfinished business, but it was definitely a role that I loved. And I thought Francis Lawrence, the director, did an amazing job. I loved playing that character and I really enjoyed the movie. was like ‘Can I have more?’ I kept asking almost every year”.
