Inditex’s entry into the second-hand market is already a reality in the United Kingdom. There they have launched their pilot program Zara Pre-Owned, a platform that seeks to “extend the useful life of our Zara clothes.” In it we can repair it, resell it or donate it and this is how everything works.
Repair clothes at Zara Pre-Owned
There is no more sustainable clothing than what we have already bought and worn. For this reason, Zara now gives us the possibility of fixing it in case it breaks. For this, the flagship firm of Inditex will work with a network of workshopsin charge of fixing our favorite clothes.
To do so, a fillable menu is displayed in which you have to indicate the product, the condition it is in, the color, the material and the adjustments it needs. So Zara will be able to give you a budget for the arrangementfrom 3.50 euros to put a button up to 11 euros to fix holes or 16 euros to change the zipper.
Resell our clothes at Zara Pre-Owned
Another thing that Zara Pre-Owned will now allow us to do is buy second-hand brand clothing. For this they have created a if you special with categories of Women, Men and Children. There we can filter by type of garment and enjoy Zara jewelry such as coats at 35 euros.
We can buy second-hand clothes, but we can also sell them. To do this we have to register with Zara and choose one of these three options: scan the barcode of the garment label, search by reference that also appears on the label or raise the garment to the platform manually, with photos and information, the same operation as Vinted.
Donate clothes through Zara Pre-Owned
Finally, if you feel generous and believe that the best use you can make of your old Zara clothes is to give them to someone who needs them more, you can always donate them. Zara will take care of the transport for about 2 eurospicking it up at your house and taking it to where you indicate.
