What a bomb we have in hand and it is that Marvel seems to have realized that it has two years making movies cut up into episodes. At least, with the exception of ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’ and the present ‘She-Hulk’ which are more episodic, the rest consciously refrained from television narrative structures.
One of the series we have on the horizon is ‘Armor Wars‘, adventure starring James Rhodes / War Machine (Don Cheadle) and is being rethought as a film, according to THR. This would imply that its premiere, scheduled for November 2023, would be delayed. Especially considering that the intention is to reach theaters instead of Disney +.
We do not know the details of the plot. ‘Armor Wars’ refers to the mythical saga of the eighties —written by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, with drawings by Mark D. Bright and Barry Windsor Smith— in which Tony Stark discovers that their designs have been stolen and are being worn by various armored villains.
Invasions and armor
In addition, the now film will follow the events of ‘Secret Invasion’, a series starring Samuel L. Jackson and in which Don Cheadle will have his good appearance. Asked about both projects in the recent D23, the actor explained the relationship between them.
“In the trailer, you will see that he has to face Nick. He and Fury go at it throughout this series as far as they need to because of what has happened to the planet at this point. It’s like a thriller and a different kind of series than what you’re used to in the MCU, which is great that we can continue to change it and transform it. It is fun.”
Although it does not yet have an associate director, still Yassir Lester the person in charge of the script of ‘Armor Wars’. It is not the first time that there has been a change of plans of this type, in this very phase ‘Hawk’s Eye’ was first announced as a film; years before it also happened with the already forgotten ‘Inhumanos’.
