No, unfortunately we are still waiting for the anime to arrive at some point. ‘Legend of Zelda‘ and for now we can only dream… Especially now that ‘Super Mario Bros.’ It has shown that you can make really nice animated movies from video games, let’s see if a studio jumps in and brings Link to us on the big screen.
But while what we can do is try to take advantage of that itch fantasy and adventuresespecially if we are yet to get our hands on ‘Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ and we are going through the internet with too long teeth.
‘The heroic legend of Arslan’
Based on the manga of Hiromu Arakawa (the author of ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’), this historical fantasy anime follows a prince who has to leave his kingdom after an invasion by a rival nation.
In order to get your home back, Arslan he will have to assemble an army and face a powerful warrior known as “Silvermask” if he wants to stay alive and reclaim his father’s throne.
‘Record of Lodoss War’

A phenomenal classic and one that also helped define the fantasy anime of its time with a perfect aftertaste of Japanese RPG… and with all the sense in the world, because it is based on a series of video games.
The first anime from 1990’s ‘Record of Lodoss War‘ follows Parn, the son of a disgraced knight. To try to restore his family’s honor, he hits the road with a group of adventurers to explore catacombs and face all sorts of enemies.
Yona of the Dawn

Although it starts out a bit similar to Arslan’s story, ‘Yona of the Dawn’ is a fantasy if what we have always wanted is for Zelda to be the one to take the reins in history.
‘Yona of the Dawn’ follows jona, a princess whose kingdom has been invaded. After barely escaping from her, she begins to travel through all the towns to gather a team capable of helping her recover the throne and overthrow the usurper.
‘InuYasha’
Another classic of adventure anime, and one that has a lot of the same japanese mythology that has inspired both settings and characters in the video game series.
The story of ‘InuYasha’ starts when Kagome he falls down a well in present-day Japan and appears several centuries ago, in feudal Japan. There she discovers that she is the reincarnation of a powerful priestess and accidentally releases the half-demon Inuyasha. In order to prevent a powerful demon named Naraku from getting hold of all the fragments of a very powerful jewel, both must put their differences behind them and travel the world to recover each piece.
‘The castle in the sky’

In the filmography of Studio Ghibli we have a good handful of movies with those vibes of ‘Legend of Zelda’, but ‘Castle in the Sky’ is a beautiful adventure that amazes us with ancient civilizations while warning us about the misuse of technologies.
Pazu, an ordinary boy who works in a mine, is involved in a search when he meets sheeta, a girl with a mysterious pendant. Following a legend, they both embark on an adventure to try to find an island that floats in the sky.
