Donda Academy, the Christian school that Kanye West has founded in California, is shaping up to be one of the rapper’s most controversial projects, and that’s saying a lot.. At the moment the center only has one hundred students and the registration process is still open for the 2023-2024 academic year while the search for educational personnel continues. With regard to the price of each academic year, tuition costs $15,000, but on the school’s website they make it clear that there are scholarships and grants.
As revealed by the families of two students to Rolling Stone magazine, parents have to sign a confidentiality agreement similar to the one used by celebrities to ensure that their employees do not spread uncomfortable secrets. However, one of the college’s consultants has clarified that although there is a document to be signed, it is not exactly an NDA, but rather an “informal agreement”.
Malik Yusef, West’s longtime friend and collaborator, stresses that What sets Donda Academy apart from other Christian institutions is not just the academic curriculum that emphasizes sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.but also the privacy it offers.
In fact, neither Kaye nor the rest of those involved in the creation of the academy have given interviews, nor have open days been held. At the moment the center has not received official accreditation from the California authorities.
