Although almost the vast majority of anime arise from manga and light novels, from time to time we come across an original story that completely destroys its season. ‘SK8 the Infinity‘ was one of the star premieres of 2021 and has earned a very loyal fandom that eagerly devoured the first season of the series and has been asking for a continuation all year.
In the end the prayers have worked and over the weekend it has been confirmed that ‘SK8 the Infinity’ will return for a second season.

Studio Bones is best known these days for his work with ‘Boku no Hero Academia’ and ‘Mob Psycho 100’, he has dared with several original works like the lovely ‘Carole and Tuesday’ and ‘Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan’.
Despite the studio’s workload, last year they released ‘SK8 from Infinity’ with an original story about a group of skateboarders. The anime has earned a legion of fans, and while original series don’t always earn a sequel, the bell has rung and Bones has confirmed that there will be new chapters and even a special OVA.
The main team from the first season is expected to return for the second, with Hiroko Utsumi with director, Ichiro Okouchi as head writer and Michinori Chiba as a character designer.
‘SK8 the Infinity’ follows Reki, a high school student who loves skateboarding. By chance, he comes across “S”, a secret and very dangerous race that brings together all kinds of skaters in an abandoned mine. Langawho has just returned from Canada and has never skated before, also becomes involved with the activities and participants of “S”.
There is no release date for the second season yet. ‘SK8 the Infinity’although at the earliest we should aim for the second half of 2023. In the meantime and to catch up, the entire first season is available on Crunchyroll.
