Raquel Welch passed away yesterday at the age of 82 at his home in Los Angeles, after a short illness. The mythical actress was a sexual icon during the Golden Age of Hollywood with movies like ‘The Three Musketeers’, ‘A Million Years Ago’ or ‘Fabulous Journey’.

Jo Raquel Tejada (her real name) was born in Chicago in 1940. To an American mother and a Bolivian father, Welch moved to California at the age of two, where she would discover her passion for acting.
Although his debut on the big screen was at the age of 24, with a small uncredited role in the film ‘The Globetrotter’ (starring Elvis Presley) and in ‘A house is not a home’, it was not until 1966 when rose to fame with ‘A Million Years Ago’. His looks caveman turned her into a movie icon and a sex symbol.
Other notable films in his filmography were ‘Fantastic Journey’, ‘Myra Breckinridge’, ‘Ana Caulder’, ‘Sheila’s End’, ‘The Three Musketeers’ and its sequel ‘The Four Musketeers’ and ‘Legally Blonde’.
“When I was a child, I was very emotional and I loved to travel through my imagination” Welch recalled in his autobiography ‘Raquel: Beyond the Cleavage’. “In my mind, she was already grown and independent. She was just waiting for the biological process to catch up with my vision.”
