Just a few days after being released worldwide, the tape ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ has already given a lot to talk about thanks to the return of one of the most beloved characters in DC Comics. About, the actor who plays this superhero, Zachary Levi, revealed some of the details that made this sequel one of his favorites to film. Here we tell you what he said!
In a recent interview, the protagonist stated that he was more than excited about the return of the iconic character that brought him international fame, as it gave him the opportunity to explore qualities that are visible on the screen. “Not every story has a chance for a sequel and we did, so I’m very grateful,” said Zachary Levi.
For the 42-year-old actor, ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ represented an opportunity to resume the qualities that the public fell in love with and potentiate them so as not to compromise the essence of the original story.
“In the first movie you take the pace of the story and in the second you try to keep that pace, I think we did that. Sadly, many sequels, in their attempt to make a bigger and better movie, miss the heart of what made the first one so special.“he added.
In addition, Levi stressed that although the elements that the public fell in love with are still present in this second installment, there were changes that will leave them speechless.
“We added a little more money, time and more special effects, but the DNA and charisma of the first one are still there.“, said.
For Zachary Levi it was a great success that his character went through situations typical of any individual and not just as a superhero, since in this way the public could connect with him on a higher level.
“Having moments with a therapist, or who he thinks is a therapist, and saying, ‘I’m experiencing impostor syndrome.’ I can identify with that, I think we all can, ”he said. “We all have moments in our lives where we ask ourselves ‘who am I?’, ‘what am I doing?’ and ‘does anyone care?’ so I try to put myself in their shoes.”
‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ was released on March 17 in all theaters in the United States. In this sequel, the public once again enjoyed the adventures of Shazam, now in his fight against the daughters of Atlas.
